This car was done for a client of mine who builds classic cars, and also has a small collection. This car was in very good condition, and with the exception of some custom interior work and a repaint, is all original. I wish I had taken before pics because all of the trim was in pretty bad shape. The owner only wanted a basic detail done since this car is a driver. It had its share of paint probs since it was sprayed, but never sanded and buffed. Without a paint gauge theres no way I was going to be using a machine on this car.
The process was pretty simple -
wash with Zip Wax (2 bucket method)
tires and fenderwells cleaned with Car Brite Whamo
all non metal or glass surfaces inside cleaned with Car Brite Xtra Duty
glass cleaned with Hi Tech Glass Cleaner and microfiber
all metal surfaces inside cleaned with PB S&G and given a coat of Nattys Red
all exterior trim polished by hand with PB PP
1 coat of Auto Glym HD
tires dressed with Auto Magic Magic Dressing

They sure don`t make them like they used to. You could take out 20 Kia with the front of that thing and not get a dent!

Not a dumb question at all. I always leave them undressed but clean the hell out of them with whitewall cleaner (Whamo). My rubber dressing is dark blue and solvent based. I`m almost possitive it would stain the white walls. A white water based dressing might be ok though.

That car looks great. And tex your right the quality of cars these days isnt like back then, but safety has come a long way as can be seen in this video.
