I wish I`d taken some before pics, because this car had a TON of swirls & scratches. The previous owner apparently loved scratch machine car washes! After claying I went right to SSR 2.5 with orange pad & did the entire car. Had to really concentrate on some of the scratches on the doors & quarter panels. Then we polished with Pro Polish & gave it a coat of EX Sealant. (I was gonna try Black Hole, but it was getting late) What amazed me most about this car is that the paint really appears to be original, & the car turned over 190,000 miles right after leaving my garage!

Looks great now, Great Job!!! I never saw that green/purple paint on an original car. Did Ford offer that color?

Thanx! It was only offered in 1996. They made 2000 Cobras in that color, & this one is serial# 84. The paint is so cool. Depending on the angle & the light, it can be purple, green, blue, burgundy, orange, & we even saw a lime green! There`s a lot of rock chips on the hood, & he plans on getting it repainted someday. Apparently the paint from BASF costs like $1500 a gallon. Here`s where you can get some more info: 1996 Mystic Cobra (http://www.1996mysticcobra.com/)

It looks alot like the House of Kolor Chameleon paint. A friend of mine used to have a Tahoe he turned into a show truck and had an Escalade front end and Chameleon paint..the body shop charged him 10 grand for parts, paint, and labor so yes I would say 1500 per gallon is probobly about right.

Mike, you did a great job! The Cobra definitely doesnt show its mileage anymore. It`s like night and day.

Looks great although at $1500 per gallon I would dread having to repaint it.

Some of them have, in fact, asked me that! I switched to Ford in 1985, & haven`t had one let me down yet. Our driveway has the 2 Mustangs, the wife`s Expedition, my work Focus, our oldest son`s Escape, & our youngest son just ordered a black 2011 Mustang.
