My wife was gone again this weekend so I spent Saturday and Sunday playing on the truck some more. I got my mirrors painted and I also decided to pinstripe my wheels with some "1-Shot" since I can`t stand them anyway. They`ll have to do until I can get money to buy some new ones. Anyway, here are the pics...

As you can see here, the previous owner seriously neglected the wheels. Up top is the horrible, pitted surface and below is where I`ve tried to clean them up. They`re still not perfect, but they at least have a shine on them now whereas before they looked liked `silver`.

And here`s the wheels `after` some polishing and then pinstriping with "1-Shot"...

And a little side biz pimpin`...you can`t have a work truck without some proper self-promotion, right?

Hope you all dig the pics. I`m still saving to get a new front bumper and rear roll pan...both of which I will be painting as well as the grill and door handles. And with any luck, some new wheels/tires soon if my side biz picks up.

I don`t recall how the wheels looked before but I think they look quite nice now........as does the entire truck. :bow

Here`s a shot of the wheel/tire the day I brought her home...

As you can see, the tires were bald and the wheels...un-cared for. I prayed the whole 4 hour trip home to not have a blowout. Hehe.

WOW! Nice job on the wheels, Tony!

I`ve been thinking about picking up a Beugler tool. Did you, by chance, use this method to pinstripe the wheels? Any advice?

The truck is looking great.

Thanks...yeah I used my Beugler tool for these. It actually worked pretty well. I jacked the truck up slightly, placed a box right alongside the wheel to rest my arm on, started spinning the wheel with my left hand and then slowly placed the Beugler onto the wheel surface. The first attempt didn`t quite line up, so I wiped it all off with some thinner and started over.

I bought this Beugler tool probably 10 years ago at a car show. The sales guy was using it on 11x17 paper to show how it worked and I was instantly hooked. I figured I could learn how to use it and be able to make a little money on the side with it. Well, it`s much easier on paper than on metal and so I quickly gave up on it and only use it once in a while.

Now I will say that it worked fabulous when I striped my previous car after I custom painted it. I didn`t trust my hand at long flowing strokes, so I did the shorter sweeping strokes that are popular now and it worked like a charm...

So if you get one, be prepared to practice. I was striping everything in the house when I first got it...plastic tote boxes, fire extinguishers, my old computer, boxes, anything that was sitting around really.

I use Poorboy`s Bold n Bright...spray it on a saturated mf towel and apply. Gives a great satin-ish finish. I then keep the BnB soaked mf in a ziploc bag.

One more cool mod I just got...

And for those who can`t figure it out...it`s "Rock Candy"...one of my favorite Montrose/Sammy Hagar songs. My wife and I are huge Hagar fans.

Is that a special tape you used on the rims? I`ve never seen that done before

No tape...just 1-Shot lettering enamel. I applied it with my Beugler pinstripe tool.

It`s used by sign painters/pinstripers for lettering vehicles, signs, etc.
