What products do you use on headlamps. I am talking about new lamps not trying to correct old faded ones.
Is the truth about the lamps having a UV coating true? if so what pad, and product, will you use just to polish without stripping the coating?
I see many here while doing a newer car 1-2 year old polishing the headlamps. After the polishing step is a wax or sealant added for the final finish. :inspector:

Paint cleaner or something like PB PP. You can seal them but its going to burn off. Do not use a polish with an abrasive

For new headlights, I hit them with some Plexus.
Plexus Plastic Cleaner/Protectant/Polish 13oz - Plexus Plastic Cleaner Protectant & Polish (http://www.detailcity.com/plexus-plastic-cleaner-protectant-polish-13oz.html)
This is the only maintenace I`ve used on Mrs. Clean`s `03.5 VW NB w/ @78k miles. It has some chips that could stand polishing, but the headlight lens itself is clear.

I`ve never seen any negative effects from polishing them with a light polish. I usually focus on the tail lights as they show light scratching more noticeably, but I will usually hit the front lamps after I`m done polishing the paint as well. An aggressive compound or even wet sanding could effect the UV coating, but if you have to get that aggressive then the lamps are probably already pretty trashed anyway, and at that point....what UV coating? ;)

I did not know you can use wheel sealant on head lamps. I love Poorboys products. I have several I cannot imagine detailing without. Does the wheel sealant have a UV blocker?
