I heard you like detailing, so I figured you could detail the van you use as a detailing van.

Everyone I meet always asks, `So you detail cars for a living? I bet your vehicle is always clean.` Completely the opposite. Except today the floor needed a good scrub and vac, nothing fancy in terms of cleanliness, but it had to be done for the sake of personal hygiene.

That 1Z Einszett sticker is covering a half dollar sized hole in the dash that a previous owner installed. The seats aren`t stained, just the way the luxury velour interior poses under the camera flash.

Just removed the center section of the partition wall. Realized my 6` ladder is costing me time on RVs, so I need to upgrade to an 8`. Can`t use a roof rack because of height restrictions in some parking garages I visit. This will let me fit it inside the van. The generator is a knockoff of the Kipor 2000, very quiet- and tucked underneath the shelves is an ozone generator. Rotary and DA stay in the Husky bag, I`m like a hitman hunting for swirls and that`s my violin case.

Two buckets at the rear door, filled and ready for work tomorrow after the rain stops.

Everything I could possibly need, I`m not a distributor nor am I doing fleet washes so I don`t carry around surplus. Just what I would consume even if busier than expected. Two cans of glass cleaner, pair of spray bottles each with APC, spray wax, Woolite, etc. There`s as much of a probability that I`ll run out as I will have a trigger break- helps to have a spare.

All buttoned up and ready to hit the road, the cargo net is from a Mazda something or other. That`s a 35 gallon tank- I`ve had to push the limits of it on only two occasions but I`m still thinking of moving up to a 50 gallon for added assurance. 5HP Briggs with a Cat Pump, 50` of hose.

Do you have water baffles in the holding tank?

If not, has it ever been a problem?

Never had a problem, but I`ve considered using the baffling balls (? lol). The tank is ratchet strapped to 3/4" plywood with D-rings, which are bolted through the floor of the van and centered above the axle. But even this solution is only temporary. Waiting on access to a MIG welder to build a nicer looking skid.

I will say this, if I stop fast- like emergency fast the ass end will bounce a few times from water moving back and forth. Not anything too concerning, what you`d expect from 300lbs of water- and side to side movement I`ve never noticed. Might be reduced due to the cylindrical shape rather than a square?

Thanks for the offer.

I`ve got plenty of friends with a MIG, but none of them have gas! My welds aren`t as pretty without some shielding, if this was going to be hidden somewhere I wouldn`t care but alot of customers and passers by look in the van while I`m working. :inspector:

Nice set up in the van.

Thank You. This setup didn`t cost me much, I buy smart and don`t have a need for 3000psi and 150 gallons. Overdoing would have been a sure fire way to reduce my net profit- and in my opinion one of the biggest mistakes a new mobile detailing businesses could make.

Great van man

Honk if you see me!

I caught your message in another one of my threads, sorry I missed you at Poorboys. I was really looking forward to putting a face to the holland_patrick name! Maybe we can check out one of the car shows together before this season is up.
