Two weekends back we had a heat wave roll through...temps were about 100 for two days straight...that`s pretty darn hot for us.

My wife and I where visiting with some friends on Saturday afternoon, she left her Blackberry cell in the car on the seat. It go so hot that it turned off the cell.

I brought it back in the house and it was really hot...thinking that maybe it might have ruined something..I waited about 15 minutes and it came back on.

I guess there must be a safety feature for over heating of the unit.

Battery degrades very rapidly when hot.

I had to stick my Treo in the freezer.

Lithium batteries usually have some temperature switch to prevent fires and explosions.

Exactly what he said. Its really common with car stereos, headrest screens, flipdowns, amps, ipods. It can also affect electronics if its to cold too.
It happens to my cell pretty often if i forget it on my dash. Freaked me out the first time then i learned about it in school.
I was feeling that heat wave too, it was 110 here in cloverdale.
