hi,

i`m going to order a portercable or such polisher and I need to know how many RPMs to use w/ sealents/ploishes and wax?

With the PC Dual-Action Polisher...the speeds go from 0-6. For swirl removal, I like 5.0-5.5... For applying polishes, maybe a step down, 4.0-4.5.

If you`re talking about a circular polisher, which Porter Cable also makes. That is adjustable to specific RPM speeds... Usually 1500+ for compounding, 1000-1300 for polishing.

For polishing with a PC, I set it at 4.5-5.0 and for waxing about 3.0

I agree with the PC I use between 4.0-4.5 for polish and 3.0-3.5 for sealant.

I do, thats why they have it ! I normally apply sealant by hand, but all polishing and SMR`ing is at high speed......
