How many of you know how to?

Originally I did not want to but my dad insisted on it. Boy am I glad he did. I have gotten to drive numerous Porsches and several Audi RS4s because of his foresight. :yay

Don`t be embarrassed if you can`t...nothing to be ashamed of. ;)

I`m not sure how old you are but when I started driving there where a lot of sticks over auto`s....as a teenager it was a must to have a stick!

Yep, I do. Don`t have one, but know how to drive one.
It`s just not practical anymore, but it is fun.

Thats what I learned to drive on, I don`t have a car with one now, but Im thinking the next hot rod I build will have one, like Ron said, they sure are fun.

This reminds me something that my daughter said one time that made me laugh, I had to borrow my buddies truck to pickup a drive shaft I had built, my daughter who was 14 at the time, went with me, along the way, she said, do you have to do that the whole time you drive? Uh yeah.....LOL. if you want to go anywhere. :)

It`s quite surprising to me that the poll is 100% manual shift capable.
My kids are in their 40s and even when they took driver`s ed, manual shifting was not taught. They both learned driving a tractor on their grandfather`s farm.
My granddaughter wasn`t taught to drive a manual transmission and I don`t think any of her friends were either.

My 2nd car has a clutch. (it was my favorite and I had it the longest, 14 years.) Ive only owned 3 cars, 5 pickups (still have #2,4, and5), and 3 mini vans/suvs. #2 pickup has a clutch. I ordered it in that way in early 88, my first and so far only new vehichle. I grew up driving tractors, but to me its still not the same. Most if the newer tractors only use the cltch to start movement and shift from forword to reverse. Sometimes its not even called a clutch.

I have not driven one in years. When I drove it really was not fun drivin a stick in NY everyday. But I wanted to learn so I picked up an 88 BMW 325e from a tech at work and taught myself.
