Turtlewax Liquid or Paste

My in laws went out of town for five days. While they were gone I spent five and a half hours detailing their car. I used UPP Carwash Shampoo, Poorboy`s SS1, Poorboy`s Polish with Carnuba, Poorboy`s Ex and 1Z Glanz Wax. I did the wheels with Meg`s Hot Rims All Wheel Cleaner. The tires were cleaned with Westley`s Bleche- White and dressed with 4 Star`s Bazooka Tire Gloss. The windows were done with Stoner`s Invisible Glass. Every thing else,doorjambs, undersides etc. was squirted down with Poorboys Spray & Wipe. When I completed the task the car looked immaculate. I was supposed to pick them up monday at 9 am. The airport from which they were going to depart from caught fire so their leaving was delayed a day. So instead of Monday I was now picking them up today( Tuesday). It rained all day Monday and their car was outside. This morning when I picked them up the car still looked very very nice. His car never ever looked better. Anyway when we got home my father-in-law thanked me for washing the car( it was absolutely filthy). He asked me if I used Turtlewax liquid or paste. I told him liquid(1Z Glanz is a liquid). He said he`ll have to get the liquid because the turtlewax paste that he uses never makes the car shine like this. I told him he might not be rubbing hard enough. He said yea that might be it. I started laughing and said good bye. No sense in telling him all what I did and how long it took. He`d think I was crazy.

I did the same thing for my aunt. While I was home for x-mas she let me drive her car so I hand detailed it while her and my mom were out (no tools at the mom`s crib). I had to make do with the local laser wash, then hand polish/wax...cleaned the wheels dressed the tires and cleaned and dressed the interior...

but..she was floored. I didn`t say a thing (the pulled into the garage and all I heard was "wow..wow..." My aunt came in and thanked me...then my mom came in and said ...do mine...:(

On a serious note.
Did you consider getting your father-in-law some Poorboy`s PwC?
It would make him a great one step that would make your next detail a lot easier.
Right now, he just might go buy some liquid TW and rub harder.
With the PwC, he just might find it so easy to get the great results that he would use it once in a while.

I agree with Charles. I gave my 73 year old mother a bottle of PwC to use. I don`t live close enough to detail her cars year round, so she needs something that`s simpe to use yet still looks great.

I`ll talk to him about keeping his car looking nice. If he`s interested I`ll tell him what he needs( the easiest prods) and I`ll order everything I need and put it on his credit card. Just kidding.

Keep in mind that the average owner has no interest in using several products. That`s why I thought the PwC might work good for him. The "wax" that people get sprayed at their car at the drive-thru car wash is quite often all their car will ever see.

I`ll do his car for him. My f-i-l is 76 I think. His car hasn`t been detailed like that since he`s had it. I wanted to clay it but I was pressed for time and I know he doesn`t care. His wheels had about 4 years worth of thick black gunk on them. Anyway I should be able to wash and wax his car every 4/6 weeks.
