garage sales ... YAY

Generally I don`t do garage sales, but I just had to stop at this one, and I think i made out well

Rigid 5HP shop vac W/ new filter $15

The guy also had a set of Halogens on a stand for $5

The guy told me it was a shame i got there when I did he sold an 8HP rigid for $25 :(
but I`m still happy with my purchase.

The filter alone is close to 15, it is on my Craftsman..same HP

The Holgens on sale are 20 to 30 on the stand...you made out BIG TIME

I`m like you I don`t stop at many GS but if I see stuff like this or tools..I`m in!!

"J"Jay, no need to lament this one. To the best of my knowledge the biggest Ridgid "shop vac" style vacuum made is a 6.5 horse.... and I`ve got one. Great vacuums. You might want to look into the Mr. Nozzle hose set up for your new vac. Much easier to use in a detailing environment. You won`t spend as much time wrestling the hose.

Garage sales are pretty awesome! One of my friend`s aunts was at one sometime ago and saw an old WWII Nazi helmet for $15, she bought it and brought it home to her husband, turns out it`s worth $25,000 because of the condition it is in! Always good to just take a peek at them all :)

Strange you should mention the helmet. My grandfather left me an original Nazi helmet. It`s in great condition but the truly amazing thing about it is the size of the helmet. Seriously looks like it would fit an 11 year old boy. It`s no toy, it`s the real deal. Towards the end of the war they got desperate and stretched the definition of "able bodied man" to the limit, poor kids. I can only imagine the story behind a helmet that size.

The vacuum will have so much suction it will pull the mats right out of your vehicle and the Halogen lights will show you every flaw in your paint.

Yeah it is pretty amazing to hear. My great grandfather fought in WWI and it`s the same deal as you`re talking about, he took the helmet off of a dead soldier and his sidearm pistol, kept it in a fancy gun case and not it`s still in mint condition. The helmet is tiny! When I put it on my head the straps hardly go past my ears... Maybe I just have a big head:D Keep that helmet in good shape! Worth a pretty penny.
