Hi guys! Been awhile (2 months) since I last posted. School kept me busy I guess...but then I finally had the opprutunity to purchase my very own car (first car, I`m 21). So now that I have a car, I`ll finally have something to detail.

It`s a silver 2000 Ford Taurus SEL w/109K. It looks like it`s been garaged for quite a few years, except for maybe the last couple. Here are some pictures: Here (http://s30.photobucket.com/albums/c325/beachbum86/00%20Taurus/Apr408/)

I finally go home from school in May, so the detailing will begin pronto. I already know what I`m doing for the outside, but the inside is what has me wondering what to do. The plastic panels are nasty, the floor has spills, mats are dirty and the leather I don`t think has been conditioned or cleaned in ages. I have the car getting 30% tint in a couple weeks and I have a dashmat installed.

After reading on here, it seems like leatherique would be a candidate for me but I`m not sure what exactly I should purchase? Or is there something better?

The carpet/plastic..does the 6-1 woollite thing work? I used some carpet cleaner concentrate awhile back and that stuff worked good (used for those vacuums). Is there a stronger product? The woollite mix should work fine for the plastics too I assume? Here are some pics of the interior: Click here (http://http://s30.photobucket.com/albums/c325/beachbum86/00%20Taurus/NastyInterior/)

Thanks for any help...just want to buy what I need before I head home to the middle of nowhere :)

Welcome to the forum!

Looks like the exterior is in good shape.

For interior cleaning I have found DP Total Interior Cleaner (http://www.detailcity.com/dp-total-interior-cleaner.html) to perform well. For protection, I prefer PB Natural Look (http://www.detailcity.com/poorboys-natural-look-dressing.html).

Good luck. I look forward to seeing your after pictures!

Thanks for the suggestions on the products. I will be sure to look into them :)

My apologies for the bad link to the interior, here`s one that actually works: beachbum86/00 Taurus/NastyInterior - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting (http://s30.photobucket.com/albums/c325/beachbum86/00%20Taurus/NastyInterior/)

A good APC like PB`S would work great for everything in the interior. Seats, carpets, and door panels. The good thing about the product Dilute to your needs. I use it on interiors all the time. Then used on the seats get a soft leather brush. Then follow up with PB Leather Stuff. That`s just my opinion. The Leatherique works quite well. If you do a search on the forum here there should be some writeups on Leatherique. Good luck with the detail.

I had not thought of using the PB APC (I assume you mean this one (http://www.detailcity.com/poorboys-bio-degradable-all-purpose-cleaner.html)) on the interior. I should have because it is an APC ... DUH! I`ll have to try that. I do like it and as you say you can dilute it so it goes a long way.

I`ve not used the PB Leather Stuff. I assume it is good. For really worn leather I have read that the Leatherique does wonders.
