Guys,

Hope you can help me out here.

I recently replaced valve cover gaskets on my car. In the process of taking them off, some oil (Mobil 1) leaked onto the exhaust manifold and is smoking.

From my experience working in a oil-change shop back in highschool, it would usually burn off within a few minutes. But from what I have read, synthetic oil takes forever to burn off.

So, I have tried Engine Gunk and Brake cleaner and neither seem to clean it up. Part of the problem is, both of the products are in aerosol form. The part of the manifold I need to clean, can only be reached by turning the bottle upside down, and therefor reducing the "foaming" action of it.

Any suggestions on what a good product to use is?

Thanks much!

Any all purpose cleaner or degreaser will work fine. Something like Simple Green, Greased lightning, Purple power, etc. would work.
