Anyone here watching the tour?.....the US Discovery team made their moves today....they are in the Alps and headed for the Pyrenees...this will be where the race is decided....for me its interesting on two levels...I was a category 3 road rider in my 30`s (means that I was a serious armature ) so I can understand what the tactics are...and there is a local Santa Rosa guy racing for the US team Levi Leipheimer he is in 9th overall which is a great position to be in at this stage of the race

I know that the US doesn`t give much attention to pro-cycling...however if you want to watch one of the most physically changeling sports in the world this is it!

I have seen some of it and admit while I am not even a person who rides a bike I was in to it when Lance was racing...it amazes me on some of those up hill climbs they have to do...

And some of the crashes look painfull.

I was watching a little yesterday and they were showing that guy racing for T-Mobile and he to stop because he could no longer hold onto the handles after he had fallen and broken and or seperated his shoulder.

I didn`t see the fall but most likely it would be a shoulder injury...the one thing about bicycle racing is there are no injury time outs...coupled with the fact that its one of the most cardio demanding sport in the world..it can break even the most fit athletics

I couldn`t even do the downhill unless the sides were padded and sponsored by Nerf.
