Feelings the same, although when I first read what you wrote, I was thinking that has to be a misprint, they are not that expensive...until I clicked on the site and saw what they are putting in it.

That generation of Trans Am was amazing.

The price tag isn`t "that bad" considering that the price tag on the "original" bandit editions was about 30K and that was back in the 70`s.

30 years later and that car will still turn heads where ever it goes. :drool:

I`m not sure on the Bandit edition but you could buy a loaded Trans Am in the $8500 range back in 1977.

I can`t say that I was ever a fan of the Firebird Trans AM....but when they do things like this to the older cars....I could become one

A "Bandit edition" wasn`t offer by Pontiac, but it was offered by an after market company.

There were Special editions that where offered by Pontiac with Black and Gold (gee...is there any other way to have a TA :lol: )

When I said Bandit, I was referring to black and gold. I didn`t know that was actual terminology. So are you saying there was an after market version of one of these going for $30K in the 70`s? I know the DKM (tuner version from and Arizona dealership, Mecham was the last name) turbo versions were going for around $12K in the early 80`s.

J-, I`m laughing at myself because I really didn`t know they made a Bandit version of the T/A. I can`t believe what I`m reading when I look at the price. I seriously came within an eye lash of buying and 79 Z/28. At the time it was about $8K.

I just re-read this and thought something isn`t right. I thought you were showing me Pontiac literature. I should read better. You told me it wasn`t factory. 462 C.I.D, a punched 455? I believe 455`s were gone around 76 from the factory. A tuner car of that era? If it were a present day car it would cost many times this amount. Notice the tall gears (it should do better than 145 m.p.h. with legs that long) and the quarter mile time. Now that`s funny. :rofl
