I always look at them in my User CP area...I got one some time back that was purple in color....not green like the rest...anyone have any idea what this means?

Is there a place that explains this?

As far as I know, green is good, red is bad, and the other one is neutral. The neutral ones are from members who the system might think is just giving everyone negative e-rep. That`s how it works on my other forum that uses this exact format.

This is sort of a light purple color don`t know...from a guy that I helped with some glass cleaning on a old corvette...turns out I was right about the solution but his rep came out a different color was all

I like this system as some of the guys need recognition for their great tips and trick!

Maybe these threads will help
http://www.detailcity.org/forums/off-topic-forum/8296-how-do-you-rep-someone.html?highlight=rep+points
http://www.detailcity.org/forums/dc-news/7567-green-square-2.html?highlight=rep+points

If I remember right
Green= good
Red= Bad
Grey (or maybe purple now)= was given from someone without too much "rep power"
