I`ve combinesd several techiniques here. I get a few pet hair infested vehicles and hate them. So, I`ve came up with a process that seems to really work for me.

Here`s the steps....

Items needed:
Snuggle Fabric Softener 10:1
(It`s anti-static properties help to release the hairs from the carpets fibers. The scent will actually help to destroy odor since it has anti-bacterial agents.)
All Purpose Cleaner
(Mixed for carpet cleaning.)
Powerfull Vacuum
(I use the Ridgid 4050.)
A pair of BLUE thick rubber gloves
(These can be found in just about any house hold cleaning section. To me, this is the key tool.)

Techiniques used:
Vacuum the area first. This will remove any loose hair and surface dirt. Wetting surface dirt first can make a situation worse!

Wet area down with the Snuggle mix. You don`t have to drench it.....just a good wetting.
Let sit for 5-10 minutes.
Now it gets fun. As fun as it can for this job. Turn your vacuum on and sit the nozzle close to the area to be worked. With one hand, rub the carpet with some pressure in a sweeping motion towards your body. The hair should pile up. Suck it away into the vac.
I now wet the area with an APC (or Woolite mix) for shampooing. I`m not going to get into how to shampoo. This is assuming you know how.

Stand back and look at your work. The test area......
(2004 Toyota Sequoyah cargo area. Carries 2 German Shepherds.)

The area under the hair removing technique described above.....
(Snuggle mix already applied.)

One half of the area de-haired and shampoo`d. Hopefully you can tell which side!

That looks very simaller to something I saw on an Infomercial. It could be used to sweep up wet things to and they did show a demo of it. From the looks of it it got all the hair up very easily. I will try to find a picture of the thing.
Dr Detail do you use this for getting stubborn pet hair out???

I don`t know about sweeping wet things, but it even works for getting the lint off the cloth style door jamb trim in BMW`s & Mercedes` :)

This is the thing that I was talking about

Its called the One Sweep
The name came to me right when I was about to go to bed lol. The thing that picks up the water is the squeegie on the back of it. But it does do the pet hair thing :rockon

I`ve got one of those rubber brushes like above. Seems to work fine with long hair. Short hair though seems to be a problem no matter what I`ve used. Brush is pretty good for getting at the hair from multiple angles very quickly. Seems on the embedded short hairs (from a dog lol) you have to pull them out straight. Some vehicles have taken so long I thought it would be faster to come by every few days and brush the dog.

+1 It will make short work out of the German Shepard fur w/o the added steps. I came across this brush (though branded differently) during a search for something to remove Boxer hair which is the toughest I`ve come across for removing. I vac, brush, vac.

My dad bought one of those a while back, he still hasn`t figured out where it went :notme: :D

Rubber glove, an interior brush and my shop-vac usually do the trick for me. I use the FURemover to remove pet hair from seats and such during washes

I`ve always used a large nylon stiff bristled brush, and "rake" the carpet to remove the hair. Works well, haven`t found anythign yet that makes is easier or faster.

I may be investing in one of those furemover things.
