Yes I watched all 40 hours.
Watching that proves that their are people that have more money than brains.
On Friday they sold a 78 corvette pace car that had never been driven still had the plastic on the seats for $40.000
Sunday they sold a 78 pace car that had be damaged in earth quake and rear fender was broken and it brought $90.000
Yep those guy`s really are experts at car values

Most are experts at spending money... i.e. if they see it, they like it, they buy it. That super snake was unreal. I woulda killed just heard it fired up in person. :)

Imagine what the value will be once Mr. Shelby passes. :surrender

I have a Corvette that I have spent a ton of money on. It has an engine that produces 1178 HP.
Brakes suspension wheels tire everything custom and much improved over stock..
I have thought about taking it to Barrett Jackson but it is a crap shoot.
In order to get your car in you must agree to sell at no reserve and like the never driven pace car that sold for half what it should have brought you just don`t know if their will be anyone their that is looking for that kind of a car.
If I was to sell at BJ I may get twice what it is worth or I may take a real bath on it you just don`t know.

BJ is the place that will give you the type of audience that you want for a car like that..they have the money and you get to list your car on there site before the sale so that the buyers know what`s coming, helps to build up the hype

I was watching that the other day. Did you see that 1950 GM future liner (huge bus) went for 4 million. what would you even do with that thing? Then the same guy bought the 1950 boneiville concept car, so theyre "together" for a couple million. Some people have way to much money. I wouldnt have minded the 70" Hemi Cuda Convertiable :)

What you saw was a rerun from last year. The vehicles that you mention were sold in the 2006 auction.
The guy that bought the vehicles that you are talking about is Ron Pratt and at this years auction he bought the super snake for 5 million also bought the last Sting Ray for $600.000
He bought several other high dollar cars as well.

Where`s Kirk,

I told you I wouldn`t be getting my dream car.
Unique Cobra brings $5.5M at car auction (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070121/ap_on_re_us/car_auction)

You have to love these auctions

Reading that makes me feel a lot better on the amount of money I`ve put into aftermarket parts for the Audi.

If Audi is anything like BMW for after market parts I`m with you 100% it took me a year to save up the cash to put Bilstiens and eibach springs on my 540i

Just got done with that and the car is lower, rides a lot better

Yeah, the prices are rediculous. Fortunately, I found a smaller company that is VERY competitive concerning prices and their customer service is top notch. Check out my vBGarage for the list of parts that I have thus far.

It`s one of the links up top. It`s right in between the Arcade link and the User CP link. Here is a direct link to my vBGarage:

One of the guys working the floor is an auctioneer at the dealer auction in my area.
We kid him a lot about going from million dollar cars at Barrett Jackson to five hundred dollar cars here. :)

(Actually, we do have a few $50k+ cars go through.)
