I just bought a 98 mazda millenia s. I notice after I brought it home the clear is flaking off some on the right and left front fenders. I wanted to polish it but was afraid I would do more harm. I will try to get some pictures tomorrow. What can I do?

Pretty simple really, if the clear is coming off you don`t really have any choice except to hit a paint booth or accept the looks the way they are.:(
You can`t make the base coat shine once the clear is gone. It just isn`t designed to do this.

You`re going to need a whole new paint job IMO. Primer, base color, clear. Not much else you can do. Take it to a few shops and see which one you like better.

just went to shop and was quoted 1500-1600 for sanding down to paint and putting a clear on it. not what I want to do. I guess I will have to live with it.

yeah that seems high.....get some more price quotes, to have both fenders done should be about half that cost 300 to 400 a fender is about right
