A while ago I asked DC members to help me pick out this years carnauba, and the winner was FK1’s Pink Wax.
I though that it would only be fair if I would give it a review, so here goes

FK1 Pink Wax:

Purchased from FK1.com (http://fk1.com)
Price: $16.94/15oz -- $1.13/oz
Manufacturers Claim:

Pink Wax - Carnauba / Polymer
Using an advanced process #2685 is blended from #1 Brazilian Carnauba Wax and durable poly resins. The result is a soft easy on easy off paste wax which delivers a ultra deep, ultra wet, ultra glossy custom show car finish. Excellent for use on all automotive and aircraft finishes.
Note: For extra effect base coat with 2180 Ultra Seal. Multiple applications of 2685 will result in increased depth, slickness, wetness and will conceal stubborn fine scratches and spider webbing.
Packaging: Metal tin
Product: appearance: Pink
Odor: Chemical smell
Directions: Were straightforward

After having applied 2 layers of WG Deep gloss paint sealant from the previous week I was ready to experiment with Pink Wax. So the car was washed and dried with a WW and ready for the wax.

I have been spoiled by the screw on lids that many of the carnaubas containers have today, so I had to get a screwdriver to open the tin. I moistened my foam applicator, (the directions said soft sponge or cloth) and began applying the wax to my hood. I didn’t get the feel of “easy smooth application”. I felt I was working to hard while applying; maybe I was applying to heavy, because removing it seemed to be a bit of a chore as well, it seemed like the wax itself was rather hard and didn’t want to soften. I applied another coat the following day and went a little thinner on the product application. It still wasn’t the easiest to apply, but it did come off much easier. Maybe the third time will be the charm.
Now for the big question the results… it did leave the car with a slick feel, wet look, and after the second coat it gave a nice depth, without muting the flake.

I’m a little disappointed with the way I have been getting the product to apply, maybe its hardness will mean increased longevity, but overall I’m happy with the product. Unless I can get over my application issues this won’t be my first choice but, the results mean that it will have a place in my arsenal.

Questions and comments are always welcomed

Side note:
A sticker was put over a part of the label the said
Manufactuered by
Finish Kare products, folled by their phone # and lastly saying Made in the USA
The sticker now says
Finish Kare Intl
Phone # and their web address...no longer mentions being made in the USA.
Wonder if it`s still made here???

Hope this helped
