Thank you! Right before retiring a few co workers, a health care professional and several others highly suggested I start a You Tube channel about detailing, since "You seem to be into that and are good at it, looking at your car."

Several months later, having (somewhat) adjusted to retired life (and the return of detailing season in Ohio), I made the plunge and posted the video about my wife`s car. In just a week, it received 103 views (which other You Tubers I`ve spoken with, said is GREAT for a FIRST video). So then my MIL asked me to detail her car. Seeing this as an opportunity to document a car that`s typically `neglected,` and its transformation to "well cared for," I gladly told her I would do it (we do this at least once a year, she asks me to detail her car, which a gladly do, then she typically `lets it go" for another year - unless I offer to `spruce it up,` again before winter).

I ordered a tripod for my phone, which arrived yesterday, so now I can get better shots of the technique I`m trying to demonstrate (without giving the viewers the finger, when I forget to concentrate on what the hand holding the phone is doing).

Later this afternoon, my nephew is brining me his (new to him) 2019 Jetta GLI (black) for a full exterior deep clean/wash/compound and wax. He knows his car will be on You Tube and is excited that I agreed to "fix" it for him. When I mentioned the tripod and getting a good 50/50 of the hood, he said I should get a GOOD one. So I asked: "Does it look like the previous owner DIDN`T know how to care for a black car?" He just replied that it appears so, so I`m guessing it`s a swirled out mess!

We shall find out around 5 pm this (Saturday) evening. I`ll do my initial "before" walk-around video, and if it`s as bad as I`m thinking, I`ll do the wash BEFORE the video, so the swirling is prominent in the video. I SHOULD be able to post that one at the latest Sunday morning, depending on how dirty it really is and how bad it kicks my butt! Since the first-ever wash on a neglected car has taken UP TO 3 hours in the past, for me to do (of course that was also an SUV, and this one is just a little Jetta - but I guess that really doesn`t mean anything).
