Quick rundown is I have a 2022 BMW M850i right now in my garage with just around 1200 miles on it. The finish is a beautiful black metallic however under overcast skies and also under good garage lighting I see some annoying imperfections in the factory finish that I’m just not sure how to identify. Sorry I don’t have better photos but maybe you guys can give some opinions. These were taken right after a hand wash, the car is garage kept 75% of the time. These spots are mainly on the trunk and the hood areas.

Car has not been parked under any trees. Do these look like flaws in the factory finish or what do you think?

Scattered small spots that will not come off after and wash and tried some quick detail spray with a microfiber.

This one almost has a puddle like appearance but you can feel any texture change with your finger.

They look like hard water spots from the pics. Have you tried a good cleaner wax or light polish?

Yes, tried P21S paintwork lotion but it did not help them any.

Those look like bird poop etches to me (or they could be water spots as suggested). If the car spent any time outside before it was delivered, and after they took the wrap off, that would be inevitable. That P21S product is non-abrasive and isn`t going to do anything.

My mom’s black Kia Soul she was selling had water spots all over due to the apartment sprinklers. I had to go pretty abrasive to get them off but actually did a one-step everywhere except the hood. For the majority of the paint and glass, I used a Rupes blue coarse wool pad and Griots Fast Correcting Cream on a Flex CBeast and the water spots were removed quickly though I had to sufficiently work the FC Cream to make sure it finished down well. For the hood, I did a second pass with a Rupes yellow foam pad and CarPro Essence.
