Not sure what the drum your talking about is made of, but you should be able to drill a hole and thread in the fittings needed to hook up to a hose. Seal it and it should be ready. Does the drum have a lid?

Drums are difficult to keep in one place on trailer or in a truck(even strapped down).Find a Tractor Suppy Company in your area and buy a small tank.A 50 gallon tank will cost about $114.00 + tax. They also carry all of the fittings you`ll need to hook things up.A float valve in also another suggestion if you ever have to hook to a customers water.

I`ve seen people using those blue drums you see everywhere. If you can get them for free then why not use them you know? You`d have to build a bracket system to hold one on its side.

Get some fittings, valves, etc and drill a hole in it. Same thing you would do with a actual water tank.

Most of the water tanks I`ve been looking have already have the fittings and they`re ready to go.
