Hey fellas-

Am I able to/should I polish clear lenses on a c6 corvette ? They aren’t yellow. But I was wondering if it would do them any good to lightly polish them prior to ceramic ?

Car has 7800 miles on it.

Thanks!

What are we talking about? Headlights? Other lights? Instrument cluster?

I presume you are talking headlights. Yes, you can polish them, but like your paint, they have a UV protective coating (different than your clearcoat), that you can thin by polishing. You can give them a light polish to make sure they are "clean" to provide a good base for coating.

What SETEC said. Watch it or you`ll trash the UV protection in no time. That said, I`ve done it on every one of my vehicles and it hasn`t bitten me that I`ve ever noticed (and I bet I would notice any problems ;) ) but hey, I`m crazy-careful about "thinning stuff" in general when I Detail.
