I`ve had a can of Souveran paste wax for years. Haven`t used it in years either. Still smells great though. Ordered some liquid Souveran and it just arrived. Smells garbage and chemicals. Is this normal? Souveran can`t make their liquid wax smell decent??

I thought Pinnacle was a natural line. I would call Autogeek or Pinnacle and ask them.

Never tried Liquid Souveran but I do love Souveran paste wax. Did you shake the bottle well?

Sure did. Not even a hint of tropical smell. Not a deal breaker for me, just curious if its normal for the liquid to smell like chit chemicals.

The particular smell that you`re noticing out of Liquid Souveran is normal, there`s nothing wrong with your bottle. Liquid Souveran is regarded to be a much more stout protectant compared to Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax, more sealant than wax. I always felt it was more of a derivative of Wolfgang DGPS, Blackfire Wet Diamond AFPP, and Menzerna/Jescar Power Lock, which I still feel are some of the best base layer protective sealants to work with after polishing.

I’m with Loach. Seems like one of those sealants with less longevity than WG or PL, and some carnauba added which gives it a unique, smoother look.

And my bottle smells similar to what is being discussed in this thread. Nothing tropical like Souveran Paste.

I still use Souveran and Fuzion every now and then...and it`s always a pleasure!!!

Liquid Souveran I believe, needs some more solvents/chemicals to keep it in its` liquid form, that could also add to the odor.

Enjoy them both!

Huh, interesting about the Liquid..I`ve used tons of the paste version but never tried the liquid since I was after the specific look of the paste version and heard they looked different.

What I`d never heard before is that the Liquid Souveran is durable. That *never* came across my radar until I saw this thread...huh...

I guess I`ll find out. Thats why I chose to try the liquid, I had read that it closely mimics the look of the paste but it is more durable.

I did a test panel with Pinnacles "paintwork cleansing lotion" on my black paint. Applied by hand with a microfiber applicator pad. It or the product left what I call hand holograms/marring. Its supposed to be a `apply by hand` product. Had to go back with griots perfecting cream on my DA to fix it.

Hey, that really caught my attention! I used lots of PCL back in the day, but that was the older *and supposedly *MORE* aggressive version*, and it never did that (although P21s GEPC did on some really soft paint..so the PCL was milder than that by far).

Since I *assume* (uh-oh..) that you`ve tested that MF applicator I wonder what`s with the PCL to do that?!? I`d call the vendor, but then I guess I`m more surprised (and interested in what happened) than a lot of people would be. That stuff used to be about as close to functionally non-abrasive as, say....KAIO.

You coulda said liquid too! Guess that`s what we`re wondering, whether the current Liquid has that same Signature Look that the Paste imparts.

As regulars here have heard a million times before, Souveran is the one LSP that my wife could spot *instantly* on her silver Audi. She knew with a glance whether I`d used that or something else (she preferred the Souveran but I tired of redoing it at every wash).
