Cars are fueled, and bought 5 gallons of Ethanol free gas plus several cases of water last month. Saturday morning I will charge all my Scangrips and a few other cordless LED work lights, and ensure all the freeze packs chilling. May even hit the local "Twice The Ice" machine to fill up the new RITC softside cooler.
Probably pick up ingredients tomorrow evening for my `hurricane` meatloaf (Chef Paul`s Cajun Meatloaf with slight modifications), and make that on Sunday while I wait for the storm.
Fingers crossed the power stays on!

The only plus for our family is it means my brother will be back to work. He is a contract employee for FEMA, and with the predicted strength of this storm it looks like he will be sent somewhere in FL for many months. Where ever folks are miserable you will find my brother!

I hope you don’t need it but find a room or closet with no windows. That the place to be if there is a direct hit.

Don’t use an attic as if the roof gives out your exposed.

If there is a direct hit here I’ll hide in my main closet. Hope my clothes can act like a cushion!

Even worse than being without power is being without water, Where the toilets won’t flush… So therefore what I do on every major hurricane is silicone seal the tub drain in my guest bathroom, fill the tub completely, and use that if I need to flush the toilet. Then after it’s all over, peel the silicone from the drain, no problem…

My car and motorcycle Tucked away on the second story of hurricane proof concrete condo garage… Praying for a Miss.....

Maybe I should try that because right now all I have is a bucket for that situation...Eww!

Keep safe all!

Hope it`s a miss and if not then it`s strength is low.

We lived in Florida for Irma in 2017. Didn`t enjoy the experience. Glad to be elsewhere now. Best of luck to those in the projected path. Stay safe.

My house is pitch black inside if I don’t put the lights on because my shutters are covering the windows.

This worked out well for those of us on Florida`s left coast. Hopefully the folks on our east coast will get only a glancing blow.
