New client who’s friends with several other Audi owners we’ve done. Car is a daily driver and track car, which I think is cool. Previous owner had some less than stellar PPF done which will be fixed in the future. We were not by any means chasing perfection, as some other hack had already went after some defects. Multiple correction steps using Griot’s fast correction cream on a microfiber pad got us to about 90%, which was enough. Polishing done with Griot’s perfecting cream on an orange correction pad followed by refining with perfection cream on a black finishing pad. All topped off with Modesta Primer. Following day coated paint with Modesta BC08, wheels with Griot’s best of show spray wax, tires with nanolex tire. Client was happy and that’s what counts! Thank you for looking!https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190724/b40cc5298e2d2c0dd34c9d4495c94188.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190724/88c8361967dd25463a1446fbe133f330.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190724/ecf433bf93465bc32e13c1315c53ebdc.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190724/f2f0b2e981974012f467a52cee6d5af0.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190724/d8a3338ac8ac2d7a7fb80d1ed2668a7a.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190724/9b9adcd9154421357bca3917c8eee91a.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190724/f31e38a1b20ac49d7f8b47589974a8c6.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190724/72b086143a448b4461f94bc7608af678.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190724/c02037017d3c943f5e6d64a12d63d3d5.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190724/a2c881c18cfd14ed598682c6acd33e02.jpg

Mike:
This is my ignorance about Protective Plastic Film (PPF) and how to deal with correcting it; Do you have to correct it differently than clear-coat? IE, do you need a different type of pad or speed of the buffer or movement of the buffer to "properly" correct it OR do you use the same correcting methodology as correcting clear coat? Also, do you need to tape off the edges where the PPF end on the clear-coat to prevent pealing it back? I THINK I can see some of the edges of the PPF in the photo.

I think I asked you about the specific Audi Blue color name before on a similar-colored Audi you did. (Might of been Sizzle Chest, cannot remember). It is Nevarra Blue Metallic? (Yes I looked it up on-line). I REALLY like this particular blue hue and the car wearing it ain`t bad, either!

Great workmanship and photos, as usual. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you! I polish the PPF with a polishing pad and perfecting cream. The material is soft so you’ll get a lot of residue so you must work small areas and clean pads often. This film was done by a hack! Edges were lifting anyway. But it is better to not hit the edges, also because then there is a lot of time with a toothpick!

It’s either Deep Sea Blue Perl or Navarra, but the closeups have me thinking Navarra (Deap Sea is very dark with just a hint of red fleck).

Both are stunning when clean and properly cared for. I could go swimming in those colors.
