If you use other tire coatings, please do a review here:

Got time and weather to finally use the Tac systems tire coat.

Cleaned tires 1st using Griots foaming tire cleanerhttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190312/dd820b2e27b5141a01ed4855c4bc4507.jpg

Didn’t work well. Turned brown on 1st cleaning in 2nd and 3rd passes. Tire did look significantly cleanerbut figured foam shouldn’t have been white after 1 pass. Then used 303 T&R

https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190312/b2ff44016625b91db8ad04172b71665f.jpg

Bought this over the McKee’s because Klasse act recommended and this stuffs the bomb! Just as I suspected on this pass browning again. 2 more passes and all was good.

If thinking of Griots foaming tire cleaner I believe cleans well but wouldn’t use it pre coating.

Note: tried 2 other cleaners on different tires.... will be using 303exclusively in tires now

All clean

Next coating:

Went on super easy. My method I settled on was spray 1 spray on carrand tire brushhttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190312/253f56c78299caba04d2a62619e6c6cb.jpg

Work into all crevices (tire sipes?) and between letters. Then level out with foam applicatorhttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20190312/0d4ce63f35c14e59b51e55218e5c4767.jpg

Did 3 coats this way.

Looking awesome!

I just put on one coat of Tire Coat. But that is why don`t like shine on the tires. Would be interesting to hear if the shine gets nocked down a little after the first rain or wash. During the summer I got awesome longevity from it. On the winter tires I messed up the order when I applyied Sonax Spray and Seal first on the rims. But that was getting over to the tires LOL. So maybe the bonding was comprimised as it didn`t last long this winter. But only the looks from this Tire Coat is a winner for me. As it`s looks like a new fresh tire. And I`m not so good at applying tire dressing regualary LOL. But with keeping them coated with this and sometimes gets it deep cleaned and reapply it`s an awesome product if you like the natural rubber look.

What’s funny is sheen wasn’t much different from 1-3 coats on the nittos

Keep us updated on durability, please.

I really like how that looks.

Coatings=crack- Glad you found an approach that worked for you.

FWIW, IMO the Griot`s product to use for that kind of cleanup would be their Rubber Prep. Sure glad to hear how well the 303 worked though, that sounds great and is undoubtedly much cheaper (and probably a lot easier) than the Rubber Prep.

Heh heh, interesting wording on the Tire Coat bottle ;)

I think your right on rubber prep. I already had 303 and thought it was expensive. Griots was priced right and discription “unleash the power of foam to cut through break dust and road grime, strip away silicon and prep your tires for dressing” made it seem it might work for this.... thinking it’s more like their tire and rubber cleaner and good for maintaining clean tires.

Coatings=crack- Heh heh, having patronized Griot`s since Richard was answering the phone in his parents` kitchen, I guess I`m immune to his ad-copy :D I kinda figured the aerosol was about as mild as the Rubber Cleaner (which I do like, but oh man is it gentle stuff).

Next time you want to spend $, I do recommend a bottle of the Rubber Prep, IMO it`s simply one of those "gotta have some on the shelf, because some day..." type products.

Agreed. Will be getting some on next trip down. Will use the two I have now (rubber and foaming). To clean coated tires. Only gonna use soap and water 1st month tho.

Coatings=crack- I sure wouldn`t worry about their regular Rubber Cleaner compromising the coating. IME it`s one of those products that`s, uhm...so gentle it doesn`t even hurt the dirt ;) I bet it`ll work a lot better on yours, given your coating.

Yeah the guy I talk to at Griots basically called it a detergent (soap?). But that was my intent to use once tires coated. Was just expecting more from the foamer. Might try Perl as a topper... we use toppers on paint coatings....

Already made it longer than any dressing for me 12 days:

Yeah happy so far. Reading most top off every 2 months. Will be happy if I get to 2. Do you use a coating and if so what type and how often do you re apply?

Gee, your conditions must be murder on your tires! 12 Days being a long time...huh. No wonder you wanted to find something more durable than what you were using before.
