I had someone ask me what the vinyl is. " If it`s vinyl (PVC), you`re good. If it`s polyurethane (PU) you definitely don`t want to use anything on it."

Not sure what vinyl Porsche used in the 70s, but Toyota and Datsun had some pretty thick stuff. The vinyl on American cars was prone to cracking. Pulling a door panel off a 1 year old Pontiac would lead to tearing the heck out of the stuff. And all of the cracked dash panels, ugh. I guess it was the mid 90s before vinyl technology got better.

I’m just rambling now.

I think back in the day it was called Pepita cloth? And some of them had a solid color vinyl of some type but don`t remember. I don`t think you can get this type of material or the same anymore for them. The ones with vinyl I use to clean them with a soft towel using warm water with a very small drop of soap and follow up very quickly with a clean dry towel.
