Construction underway!

Business is boomin` here in Stuart Florida and evidence can be found right out of our (and Autogeek`s) front door! After years of planning the empty lot in front of our current building is no more as concrete has quickly been poured, and electric and plumbing laid. Progress has been rapid and it`s looking like walls will be up within the next week. Great to see new buildings being put up however one being erected here is somewhat bittersweet - as this lot was the host to several great car shows as well as the birthplace of Detailfest.

From it`s inaugural year in 2006 to 2016, Detailfest was hosted on the front lawn of Autopia`s current location where the team quickly grew the show from a mere 12 attendees to several thousands detail enthusiasts, dozens of vendors and the biggest names in detailing. After record attendance in 2016 Detailfest was moved to the Palm Beach Convention Center in 2017.

The building going up will be the same size and layout as our and Autopia`s current headquarters.

Flash back to a month ago when construction started and this is what the lot looked like:

Just down the road there are several more construction sites underway or soon-to-be, including our very own new Headquarters! Check out the rendering of our new building:

We are expected to break-ground on our new headquarters within the next 6-8 weeks, here photo from across the street from our new location:

As you can see from these aerial photos, our new location is just a stone`s throw from our current headquarters - Also note all of the lots that sold next to us within a week of going onto the market:

Our building is currently in line behind lot #1&2 on our south side which broke ground last week. This is going to be a 20,000 sq ft facility. Within that last week here is where their progress has taken them:

To the north of our building we are also behind in line with a new neighbor in lot #11 which is slated to become indoor RV storage and will break ground just before us.

Congratulations on the new building. Looks like some fishing opportunities in the back yard. But only during breaks I`m sure.

In a little less than a week the walls of the building across from our current location went up! This construction crew works quickly, as the first time I noticed that they had begun hoisting the walls in place they were already at this point:

The walls were poured on top of the buildings foundation and then hoisted into position by crane. Once in place there are supports which have been secured to the wall section that are then bolted into the foundation. This method is called "Tilt-up" and if you look a the gif in the previous post you can see the walls which are at that point on the ground and waiting to be lifted into position.

Here`s how the building currently sits:

Our lot is still about a month and half away from breaking ground but I`ll be sure to keep this updated.
