Besides the $30 pinnacle crystal mist spray, what would be available that will be comparable with products such as the P21s or the Souveran carnuba waxes?

After every wash, I always quick detail/quick wax the car as I dry it. I know that the Synthetic spray detailers won’t work, as much as I love my megs UQD!

Not sure why the synthetics won’t work other than changing the look. They are gonna have their own look regardless. If you like the look of a certain wax you need to end with that certain wax or run the chance of having the look changed by any spray

I’m pretty certain none of the sprays are just a melted down pot of your wax of choice. They would harden up again so they have to add polymers and solvents etc to keep it liquid and user friendly.

Gonna have to try several to find the one that is acceptable to you

Would probably grab Mckees fast wax, Blackfire carnauba spray wax, Griot’s best of shoe spray wax, and Poorboys QD+ to start with and see which you like of those over the course of a few washes each

Optimum Spray Wax always served me well.

So the local Megs Quick Detailers and Waxes- are they compatible with carnuba bases?

I use mqd and have seen no negative effect on wax.

There`s no reason that you can`t use full synthetic quick detailers and spray waxes with carnauba wax lsp`s... but as MattPersman pointed out it may change the look. If the goal is to keep that natural carnauba wax look while topping up the protection at a lower price point than Pinnacle, then several good suggestions have already been made. My two picks would be...

The one I really liked for this is NA, but Griot`s SpeedShine was in my top few...although I`ve heard that they`ve changed it (Mike Lambert says it doesn`t leave stuff behind and it used to leave plenty back when I used it).

Doesn`t Pinnacle make their Crystal Mist any more?

Meguiar`s UQW/D156 works fine *if* you like the look.

And then there`s OCW, which I use on exterior lenses anyhow.

Pinnacle makes the Souveran Spray Wax and Crystal Mist still, but I think OP is looking for cheaper options. Those 2 would be top choices, along with PA Connoisseur Rapidwaxx, but all pricey (all ones I have in stock though because I really like how they perform). Blackfire Carnauba is great too, as is Fuzion Spray Wax (also pricey). SONAX makes a carnauba spray that’s affordable. M37 Fast Wax and High Gloss qd is another cheaper combo u could look into.

I`ve certainly been through this! I too love the look of P21S and Dodo waxes etc, and it`s a shame to change up the look.

The only product I know of that has almost no "character" other than being a great lubrication buffer and mild cleaner is Poorboys Spray & Wipe. I believe I`m in gallon number 5 of this product, and I`m not a pro.

If you want some shine with your QD, there`s easily a dozen that I could recommend. Here`s my favorites, and these are 100% compatible with a "carnauba look":
Adams QD
Griots Best Of Show QD
Sonus Carnauba Spritz

But there`s still lots of synthetic-infused QD`s that "add their own look" but still look so good you won`t care. They basically amp up the "glow" without being glassy. Those are:
Sonax Brilliant Shine
CarPro ECH20 QD strength
Optimum Car Wax

Some are harder to use than others. I think Poorboys QD+ is ideal for your needs, but I find it finicky to use. You might not. The Sonax I recommended above can be tricky.

The best QD I`ve ever used is Polish Angel Presto, but it`s pricey. It`s literally gooey with carnauba, yet is easy to use.
