This came in for paint correction prior to wrapping in PPF. Directly from the factory. Only needed to wash prior to polishing, or so I thought! Apparently they paint the matte black by hand and have never heard of masking paper. Tons of very tough satin overspray! And then we found by doing routine measurements the entire front end had been repainted! The car was trashed with buffer trails and what looked like very poorly maintained wash equipment. Cutting done with Griot’s fast cut cream on a microfiber pad with the 15, refined using a trick I learned from Rod Kraft. Finishing Sealant on a white fast cut foam pad. This combination worked great. Final wipe with Griot’s paint prep, so what you see is bare paint! Thank you for looking!https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180507/fecf74e07600340eeb199df1aee7a56a.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180507/329be5af2a732ddca9ab98225ea33c67.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180507/8223a84a850cd726e2aa3366847de070.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180507/1f9fff53673f3efe88d31c43358e6f87.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180507/948f7c6c86dc6208f20bcdc5c6e1b595.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180507/52048c740a343b8e40dbdc0e7da6f143.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180507/87dd3a26a9e675ba1f602b202b503035.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180507/5142d05af7e7ed4f3863bcdedb7a928e.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180507/d0b4fd666aa28e561421f1f6d33d5621.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180507/f43172f114e1f0f3e4bdb6127ba69cee.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180507/da0fcee819a4964fd8c182ce96d7a9fc.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180507/b866196cf30a6336ceab1d9c86054967.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180507/31f54d3aee7a18641ebf0bcb4a9d5738.jpg

Great work! Did the overspray come off by claying or did you have to machine polish it off? It’s a shame the factory did such a shoddy job at quality control.

I read something saying dodge was causing delays on releasing the demons because they were making sure all of them left in pristine condition...I laughed when I read that

I think you added untold value to that car. Good job.

I don’t get car manufacturers. You charge all kinds of money for these special models and deliver
A shoddy product. It’s the same with the mustang Shelby’s. I looked one over and the panel gaps were off and there were dull spots where someone compounded and did not bother to polish back up.

It’s a shame but good for our industry. Keep charging boys.

Some of the overspray came off with clay, but not all. Which slows progress down because now you have an excess of residue in your pad. Which means shrinking your work area and cleaning pads after every pass thoroughly.

Great work, Mike and Team !
Sometime, if you want, will you please tell us what the secret process was you learned from Rod Kraft ? It is ok if you don`t tell us..
That is a laugh that Dodge is taking more time to make sure the cars are perfect when they deliver them.. :)

If you guys want to get some already damaged vehicles, get on the Tesla Forum and tell them where you are located..
These expensive cars come in all scratched from somewhere up the line..
The Client of the last one I corrected was told by the Dealer that Tesla was interested in selling the best Electric cars in the world, and the rest of the car was not their problem...
Can you imagine anyone telling you that ??
So, if you want work, find Tesla owners..
The paint is on the medium scale, I corrected a really scratched new Red one with my Rotary and Optimum Hyper Polish and Lake Country Cyan Hydro-Tech pads...
I am sure there are also a lot of other ways to get them looking good again..

No secret, just a different way to refine the finish if you have to get aggressive and get haziness. The finishing Sealant has the same abrasive in it as the fast cu. just a very small amount in comparison. So you increase The aggressiveness by using the white foam pad, but the Sealant gives some extra lubricant, as I understand it. And it is removed easily with panel wipe. As far as Tesla goes, we have offered to bring ing Griot’s and Rod for free to our local dealership and they gave basically the same answer, they pay for technology not fit and finish!
