Can you use a coating on single stage paint?

I coated a single stage car with CSL yesterday, seemed to cure just fine!

I think it depends on the coating, I’ve heard some issues with blotches with a pretty popular brand and I’ve heard good results from others. I’d check with the coating manufacturer to be sure.

FWIW, I`ve used Opticoat on a car with failing clearcoat and had no bonding issues with the base coat. It actually made a very positive impact and lessened the dull look of the base coat.

I`ve coated single stage paint before without any issues. I have heard of them appearing blotchy/spotty as Mike had stated.
