I have. I didn`t have any 3" pads though. I have the Boss pads on the way. That is a heavy little machine. I think it`s got 1 1/2 to 2 lbs on my Rupes mini. The 3 1/2 inch pads didn`t slow it down much. The Flex starts out at a lower RPM/OPM which Mike mentioned in his review on AG. I only ran in for about 30 minutes with a finishing polish. I used the Rupes first then went to the Flex. Pretty similar machines.
Immediate differences you notice are the placement of the on off switch. The Rupes is on the top, the Flex is on the side. I kind of prefer the top, this may just be because I`m used to it being there on my mini. The speed dial is placed where you can see it when running the machine which I like a lot better than the Rupes.

I`m going to have to run the 3" pads that it`s designed for to give any real feedback and true comparison between the two. I can tell you there is no shortage of power. The other thing I noticed after running it for the 30 minutes was that there was next to no heat buildup. It was about 75 degrees outside and about 80% humidity.
