I currently have a SIMPSONŽ Aluminum Series pressure washer 3200 PSI @ 2.5 GPM pressure washer system that i purchased from my local lowes about 2 years ago but am now recently getting into mobile detailing. I have learned that the pressure washer needs at least 20psi of pressure to the pump to be able to move the water through it from the tank. Would there be any way to get a different pump that would hook up directly to the pressure washer that would make it gravity fed or would i have to look into getting a new pressure washer that has that ability. Thank you in advance

I assume your feed tank is higher than your pump. Belt-driven pumps can pull better than direct-driven pumps, but you should be able to convert the pump to gravity feed. I don`t know what that involves, but I do know that it can be done. You might find a commercial pressure washer distributor in your area (go to pressure-pro.com and search for a dealer in your area) and ask them.

That`s the best way to tackle your problem.

Another way to tackle your problem is to find an inexpensive water pump to create positive pressure from your feed tank to your washer`s inlet.

Gary Dean demonstrates a gravity-fed solution in his YouTube video about the pressure washer he developed with AR, a commercial pressure washer manufacturer:

The feed tank is shown at about the 3:00 mark.
