Hi All

Wanted to get an idea of what folks are using to protect their interior alcantara bits?
I know its more durable than suede but can you still use a fabric protection product like cquartz fabric without any issue?
Looking to get an idea of what folks are using as I have a few clients who have alcantara seats/ dashes and were asking about protection.

Thanks,
Ray

good question

I`ll follow here... I use sonax alcantara cleaner but have been wondering what I could also use for protection - I probably already have something that would work and just don`t know it

Nice I actually just ordered the sonax alcantara cleaner and the sonax leather cleaning/ conditioning kit in this last 20% promo.
Can never have enough leather cleaning/ conditioning products hehe.

that alcantara cleaner works really well

I wrote a little review on it a few years ago. that`s the only time I`ve used it. I need to use it again so I will do another review then but it will be a few weeks.

I use a peoduct called aqua blocker to resist liquids and stains from them. I`d say anything that worked similar should do just fine

around 6 months, high traffic areas of course take more reapplications. I use it on carpet, upholstery, and headliners. It`s terrific for the money. If you do this for a living it is a simple upsell as well

So i followed up with carpro on cquartz fabric as that is what I use for my fabric coating package and they said it does work for alcantara/ microsuede as well:

Response from CarPro:

Hi Ray,

Thank you for your email. Yes, CQuartz Fabric may be used on Alcantara provided it is used sparingly and applied evenly via foam applicator. Surface must be 100% clean and dry of all dirts, oils, and sealants. Leave windows down during, and for a few hours after use.

Shake product
Spray CQ Fabric onto foam applicator lightly
Work product into material in overlapping circular even motions in both directions, a small area at a time and evenly before moving on. Do not over-work
Allow to air dry

Precaution: Once cured, CQuartz Fabric can not be removed so it is critical that you should not use it unless you have experience with the product.

If you have any other questions do not hesitate to ask. Have a great day!

Lol i skipped over that part. They have similar statements for the Cquartz leather coating but I had used it for the first time previously with no issues. I have also used Fabric on carpet and upholstery with no issues. Its probably just a disclaimer that they have to provide so you don`t go back to blame them if you were too heavy with the product or did not apply it with the directions.
I think its just about doing small test areas and using some common sense when applying. Taking your time and doing it slowly.

I`ve used both of the Dr. Beasleys, a passenger did manage to get something on the seat I was able to wipe it away with damp cloth. Jist picked up of the Sonax cleaner but haven`t tried it yet.

Has anyone tried HD Fabric protector or Leather Master Nubuck protector on alcantara?

Are there any updates or additional product recommendations for an Alcantara protectant? I`ve got to deal with a car that overdosed on Alcantara--it`s on the seats, dash, steering wheel and gearshift. It`s wonderfully soft and comfy when new and clean, but I can see it going downhill fast without the right protectant. Any input appreciated!

As far as I know the Sonax products are still the best ones on the market. I haven’t heard of anything new in a while.
