I`m going to be using this polish on my car to get that extra "pop" for show car season. My car currently has VERY minor wash marring. I`m thinking I`ll give it a quick once over w HD polish and a white LC polishing pad (which has worked great in the past) then move on to the Menzerna 3800 -basically for "jeweling" the paint for that extra gloss.
I`ve never used this or any Menzerna product before.
How does it differ from say HD polish or Megs 205? Any tips for use?
What pad should I use if I`m using it for that final "show car" finish? Out of the pads that I do have I`m thinking LC black or LC Tangerine Ultra Polishing Foam. Which do you guys think would make more sense for simply "jeweling" the paint? I`m not opposed to buying another pad (say the LC Crimson Finishing Foam pad) if that makes more sense. I do prefer the flat (not CCS/dimpled) pads.
I`ll be using my Griots DA.
Thanks!!

I used this on a Harley blue paint a while back and a rupes yellow pad and it worked great- I will try to find the pic in a little bit of the 50/50 cut which was pretty impressive considering the finish

I`ld say since you have the black pad use that and use ligh light pressure almost none and say 4-5 on speed and only a few passes no more than 4

BlackFire Wet Diamond followed by Pinnacle Souveran.
It`s a garage queen. Never sees rain. It barely sees sun for that matter.

Absolutely. It`s getting a full blown decon wash, Iron X, clay, etc. It`s been at least two years since I`ve done the whole enchilada so I figure it`s time.

Super Finish is 3500, 106FA. Super Finish Plus is 3800, PO85RD. Had to look at my bottles to tell the difference:o
I use a Buff and Shine Green pad to Jewel. Its a flat pad like the LC.
The Black LC pad is Meh for me, can`t tell the difference after I use it. I have a Red and Black LC pad, they just sit in my box.
The Tangerine LC pad is too much of a polish pad to use as a jeweling pad.
Otherwise I`d say follow Civicclutch`s lead.

I used the Wolfgang Finishing glaze with a LC black pad on a rotary to jewel my car. Came out beautiful. Similar product to 3800, but I think it has less abrasive in it and more oils.

I used it with a Meguiar`s black finishing pad on this http://www.autopia.org/forums/click-brag-the-detailers-showcase/183293-2010-camaro-optimum-gloss-coat-formula.html and on this http://www.autopia.org/forums/click-brag-the-detailers-showcase/183050-2003-pontiac-grand-prix-coated.html
It worked fairly well to add some nice gloss.

I just finished my brothers truck this weekend and did the final polish with the red Hydro-Tech and is my favorite for that polish. It was compounded with the blue (cyan) and 400 first.
There were couple spots that I had to go with 300 and MF but those were isolated and small. Other than the Hydros my next choice is the LC HD`s . But for a finish with 3800 my pad of choice is the Hydro red (crimson).
Here is a picture of the polish and corresponding pads I use with the 400 using either foam cut of MF. and a couple of how the truck turned out.

Super Finish Plus 3800, a slightly revamped version of Super Finish 4500, but yet both a.k.a. PO85RD, has a long working time and is low dusting. It behaves more like Ultimate Polish than 205. Keep CarPro Eraser or your IPA solution on hand because it`s a bit oily, but not as much as 4500 was. I am always glad I take the extra step and use 3800. It takes things to "11". I`ve used LC Red Hydrotech pads, and LC green pads with 3800 with great results. I agree that the black pad is "meh". The black pad is a wax applicator IMO.

Mike Phillips uses a blue pad for that application. At least he did in a rotary jewelling video.
Because I`m not a fan of super oily polishes, I`m more inclined to short cycle M205, or UP.
I would use a blue Buff and Shine, or green ccs, which is my normal polishing pad. I like the idea of the Crimson Hydrotech too.

I believe the WG Finishing Glaze is closer to Menz SF-3500, no?

To be honest, I have never liked the black LC pads. I just feel they soak up way to much product.

Awesome work. That Grand Prix is the same color as my Trans Am.

Just grabbed three of the LC Crimson pads. Thanks!

Thanks. I do have Eraser in my cabinet. And yes - I`m hoping to "go to 11"!!
