Anyone ever consider using one of these portable garages before?

I`m thinking it would be nice for coatings. I would even consider leaving it at a clients driveway if needed overnight.

Or should I just stick with a 10x10 or 12x12 canopy? I`m looking to buy one asap.

Thanks!

Just my opinion........ I`d stick with 12x12 canopy tent. They can be set up pretty much anywhere. My thinking is this might too, but with the storm drainage ditches FL has, this might be difficult to set up where a canopy has 4-6 legs.

I couldn`t image the heat build-up in something like that, especially in FL!

Stick with a pop-up style of tent - way easier to use/ store/ travel with. I`ve got a 10X20 portable canopy that`s a huge PIA to set up/ take down. I rarely use it.

i agree, just setting up smaller awnings is a struggle if you are by yourself.

That looks neat. If I was doing a longer paint correction, and was able to leave it overnight at a client`s home, then yeah, I`d consider it (cost being another factor).

I make due with the 12x12 EZ-Up. I don`t care for it`s angled legs much, but I make it work. And that giant Meguiar`s wall banner I bought from Autopia? I use that as a "wall" to put on the side where the sun is strongest.

Something else I do, is angle the top so it moves along with the sun (rises on the east, settles on the west). Also either move the car, or the canopy, to provide shade to the parts I`m working on.

edit: something else that just came up in my brain... I *believe* the smaller 10x10s have "walls" available, where the 12x12s don`t. I could be wrong. Heck that may pertain to angled legs vs straight legs (the latter being the one available with walls)

Where can I get the best deal on one of those canopy type tents? Amazon, eBay, or elsewhere?

I might need to buy something like this when I go full mobile. Where do you get those giant Meguiar`s banners?

Autopia store :)

The canopy can be found on sale sometimes at sporting goods stores. I forget which, but they do have the best pricing I`ve seen *when* they do go on sale.

I would only consider the larger tent/garage if you plan on leaving it out overnight. Weather, wind, and rain are too much of a variable. You guys seem to get powerful thunderstorms at a moments notice. I would be paranoid about leaving a tent unattended with a car underneath from a liability perspective. If you are there with the vehicle, I don`t see a problem. Guess it depends on how reliable your local meteorologists are:)
