I have a 5hp shop vac and I still have a hell of a time getting sand out of my carpet and mats. I track tons of sand into my truck, from my job and going to beach. Any suggestions?

Sometimes a vac alone will not get sand thats been matted down into the carpet.

Heres a brush that you should try using next time. You can use a nylon version but the steel one works better at loosening the dirt from the carpet.

I`ve had success with the round brush attachment and using small circular patterns.

If you have a PC, there is a brush you can attach which helps. I`ve used it a few times when vacuuming alone is not cutting it.

For sand/heavily soiled. Beat it to loosen the sand. Brush it to move the sand/dirt up and away. Sometimes I even Blow it with compressor. Once I have completed these steps I vacuum with the Crevice attachment in back and forth motions. Just lay the attachment with the wide portion to the floor and go back and forth with the head of the attachment slightly digging into the carpet.
