Hey guys,
I am John from Korea.

Ive just got this new CR-V steel color 2 days ago,
and I am planning to do some detailing next week.

I dealt with detailing 8~10yrs ago, when I was in Canada.
The knowledge I had is now gone, so I came here for a help.

to give you some background infos..
it is around 30 degree(celcius)
fairly humid..

here is what I planned
- wash with car soap and rinse.
- dry
- clay (lube with meg`s 34)
- top it with meg 21

questions
- polishing needed?
- is meg`s #21 suitable for hot&humid weather?
- meg`s #34 (final inspection) okay for clay lube?
- anything I missed?

there are probably many similar questions in the forum.
sorry, i am just not really used to this thread-type forum system.

please let me know.

thx

Here in the US, new cars that have been on the lot will have swirls from the "lot boy" wiping down the cars with his shop rag. Also, rain etch is a factor in humid climates where it rains for 20 minutes then the sun comes out and bakes the drops into the paint. Further, rail dust (iron) and fallout may be present.
i recently corrected a brand new black Accord that needed a polish badly. Menzerna 3800 whipped it into shape. Meg`s 205 or Ultimate Polish would have worked also.

Hi there,

There are few new things that make our life so much easier now!

Wash, get a Grit Guard Washboard! It may seems like a gimmick, but it helps my back.
Clay, get a NanoSkin Wash Mitt! It`s just like a clay bar on steroids :)
Clay Lube, get a Meg`s D155 Gallon size! It`s cheap enough and can be diluted 1:1 for clay lube or a quick detailer.
Polish, get a DA and HD Speed. It really depends on the paint condition of your car. New cars only need light polishing typically. Park the car under a sun to see all the swirls and post a picture here for us to see.
Sealant or LSP, I`d go with Collinite #845, best bang for the buck, toughest wax/sealant I`ve ever known.

Things to try:
Iron-X - removes iron deposits on paint and wheels
Optimum Power Clean - Toughest APC that can be used on wheels and tires with SUPERB results (diluted 1:3)
