This female customer of this beast of a vehicle (how cool is that?!) was a referral from another job I did a few years back. They have kindly sent me quite a few people. This was to be a wheels off, Finest detail. It`s a 2016 and it only needed a one step, save and except for a few light scratches. Here it is as it arrived:

As you can see, it was a good thing the wheels were getting pulled..they needed the extra attention. Depending on the wheels, this step is a must IMO.

Hearing this engine run was a joy!

The exhaust tips were sexy as Hell!

First up was the wheels. The barrels were cleaned first with Tarminator followed by Zep Citrus and 3D Pink soap. The faces also were shot with some ZC and cleaned with the 3D soap. Good cleaning ability for this soap. I like it. The tires were cleaned (twice) with Zep 505 and the wells with LATA.

Now it was time to wash the car. I hate washing in the rain!!

http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t12/rhowitt/Detailing%20shots/More%20Detailing%20Shots/DSC_2128.jpg (http://s156.photobucket.com/user/rhowitt/media/Detailing%20shots/More%20Detailing%20Shots/DSC_2128.jpg.html)

Oh well. It was washed also with the 3D Pink soap.

It was then brought inside and clayed with a clay towel. The paint was in good shape except for a few light scratches.

First up was the wheels. Each was removed one at a time and the barrels cleaned with ONR followed by DG Squeaky clean. The barrels, faces and calipers were double coated with CQF. The wells were coated with a DG beta trim coating. Here are a few "in progress" shots:

Once the wheel was re-installed, it was torqued to factory spec. The tires were shot with Opti Bond while it was still in the air.

The paint was polished with M205 and a yellow B/S pad either with a 5" pad on my 3401 or with a 4" pad on my rotary. A LOT of areas (especially the front end) needed to be done by hand. Boy does that slow you down! Afterward the paint, side and rear glass and head and tail lights were all double coated with CQF. The windshield was coated with Forte. The trim was done with DLux. Here she is all done:

Having some fun with the focus:

The metallic in this paint was just stunning! M205 made it jump.

Speaking of AMG...guess how many times it`s displayed on the outside of this vehicle? The highest guess I had from people over for Father`s Day was 6. It was actually 14 times!! Nobody`s missing that I suppose.

I love this shot. It is a reflection of the front star taken in the side of the chrome bar:

The side pipes were hand polished with M205 and coated too:

Great work. That metallic is popping .

Did this thing have bolts holding on the wheels instead of lug nuts?

Thanks! Yes, like Porsche wheels do.

Great Job!

I`m curious why you use LATA on the wells; only then to use Zep 505 on the tires?

I find LATA to work quite well at both tasks.

Thanks so much! I loved the way it shimmered in the sun. The matte black against the bright red calipers was a home run combo.

That`s a great question. I have used LATA before on tires, especially if they`re particularly nasty. What I have found is that the LATA is more likely to stain painted wheels than the 505. Therefore under an abundance of caution, I only use the LATA on the plastic wells. When I do use it on tires, I spray a little area at a time and brush immediately, which is not how I normally do it.

Thanks kindly. I`m a big advocate in manual focus.
