Sonus Trim & Motor Kote (http://www.autopia-carcare.com/son-720.html)

I used this last September and it was finally going back to looking dull again over the last two months so I reapplied this evening.

It still had a nice matte sheen when cleaned but I wanted to do my wiper area as I didn`t last time, so I went another go with it.

First light coat went on. I waited 30 minutes and this was after the second coat was applied.

I let it sit for about 1.5 hours. Then I decided to take a clean towel and even out a few high spots as there was a slight pooling of excess product (a light coat is hard for me to do). It evened out very nicely and looks great again. Can`t wait to pop my hood at the next car event.

Finished result...(also put a fresh coat of wax on, redid wheels/tires)

Really good stuff. Im halfway out of the bottle after two different application times, over 6 months apart. Not bad.

This product is stupid easy to use. Even if you spray too much, after the rest has dried you can wipe it off and spread it around if you need to. I got 4 or 5 months of solid shine out of this last time.

Last time I just used it on the engine area. This time I did the plastic below the doors and rear bumper.

This is a solid product and I plan to buy another bottle on my next order.

Thanks for viewing.

It is a really good product. It has a little bit of a learning curve but once you get it "dialed in" its great.

I use the DP/McKeys37 turbo blower instead of wiping to even out the pooling after it sits a while

How did you apply to the rocker panels? If sprayed on did you block the paint? Or just wash overspray off?

I opened the doors and sprayed to avoid hitting paint

Some dripped onto the ground but a paper towel solved that. Had to be a little more careful with rear piece but i had a damp micro from rw bucket in case.

My club buddy uses it on the plastic around his tail lights too..I dont.

I`ve been using Motor Kote for the last couple of years, but recently gave HD Dress a try and found it much easier to use. You can spray it on to a cloth or applicator and wipe on rather than spraying directly on to the item being treated. Been on my rocker panels for over a month now and still looks great.

Did you try adding a second coat of HD Dress?? I prefer a matte finish so have never doubled up on the Dress, but it`s supposed to amp up the shine.

Great review I couldn`t agree more. Sonus Motor Kote is great stuff.

Funny seeing the same product under the hood on the same motor :)

This photo was taken over a year ago when I applied Sonus Motor Kote

P.S. my manifold looks a little different because it`s ceramic coated (tried to match the original color) and ported (not like you see the port work).

funny seeing a battery under the engine bay of a 6.1 (that`s an actual battery, right?- mine`s in the trunk)

I want to get a ported IM to match my ported TB (89mm) that I picked up some years ago

Yup, that`s the battery, super convenient. I swapped it out for one that`s lighter and took off the insulation.

I hear you get a much better throttle response with the larger throttle body. You`re in the state to port manifolds, that`s for sure! Look up Rick Mack (company named Mack Built) he claims to have the best port and polish port matched manifolds for 6.1`s (gets the most WHP and TRQ gains on dnyo).

I will be trusting my work to STU with Inertia Motorsports (its about 20 mins from my house and I met him years ago) since HHP is too far :)
