My father-in-law was kind enough to buy me a riding lawn mower (I have just under an acre). It`s nothing extravagant but an awesome gift, and I was blown away by the generosity!

When I used it for the first time the Autopian in me kicked in. I noticed swirls in the paint and starting to get an itch. Why you say, we`ll Mike P. has the saying "If it had paint it gets polished". Well it has paint, so you see where I`m headed here.

So those of you that corrected your lawn ride let me see it.

Or

Maybe I`m just crazy for thinking it.

I don`t have any pictures, but last season I did a small detail on my push mower and my riding mower that I had. My wife came home and just laughed at me because I had my detailing brushes and everything out while washing these in the driveway. I even had dedicated brushes for the mowers. As detailers I think it`s something we instinctively feel the need to do.

a clean, shiny mower is a happy mower. :rockon

I was going to keep mine nice but it gets hammered by the branches from all our pine trees and my wife won`t let me trim them up. No sense in polishing if it`s just going to get scratched up after each use. Maybe when I start doing PPF I can wrap it. :)

Good to know. I was planning on using Speed and top with a spray wax.

In my case HD Speed (+LC White pad & 3401) worked very well on the light scratches added a nice amount of glass. However it didn`t really touch the moderate to heavy scratches. My plan is to go back over the hood with something heaver to see how more I can *reasonably* correct it. Is your lawn mower brand-new? or used?

Great looking mower Chad !!! I have the same one.

I just polished out the hood with some HD Speed and a Megs low profile pad. The repair guy who picked up my mower used a strap across the hood to hold it down on the trailer. Of course the strap marks was all I could see on the hood when I was getting the grass. HD Speed to the rescue !!!

I try and keep mine as nice as possible but with all the dust, dirt, and other stuff it`s not easy. I do blow off everything before it goes back in my shed.

Heh heh, my mower, snowthrower, chippers and leaf blowers (yeah, plural), cultivator, powerwagon, etc. etc. are not kept to Autopian standards cosmetically. Not at all. Clean enough to spot leaks, not get me dirty when I use them, and be pleasant to work on. The metal parts are protected from corroding and the things that need lubed are lubed. That`s it, all about function with zero thought to the appearance. That said, the other day a guy complimented me on their condition and asked how I keep `em so nice.

I was wondering why the talk of lawnmowers. Now I know. I`M not that crazy after all. So that`s good.

I don`t have enough land to warrant a riding mower. My push mower (if I had one) doesn`t have enough paint to polish. But I`ll admit, I would likely detail, maybe paint correct, a riding mower. Just for giggles.

So timely. Just got back from Lowes and bought this:

http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160420/67ef042d0bcd1803ffa04d576f4f25f8.jpg

They are bringing it Monday. I dont even have lawn to cut yet. They are planting it now.

Will do some polishing and protecting on it. Not sure if Ill use Polish w/ Sealant or Opti GPS.

Asked dude at Lowes if Ill get a new one out of the box - he couldnt tell me for sure. I didnt want one all jacked up from little kids sitting on it on the floor.

If it comes looking "used" - Ill refuse it. Got 10% off with new Lowes card.
