It differs in a few ways from Premium Carnauba Paste Wax. BoS Paste Wax will give you better color, depth and clarity and Premium Carnauba Paste Wax is more durable and more hydrophobic. Hope that helps!

I can`t quite tell how the lid works- does it require a tool to pry it open?

The lid unscrews. You can fit the included applicator pad inside if you squish it down.
