Looking for a better replacement. I have about 12 hours on the machine, and brand new pads are slipping off.

I heard there is a blue one available that is pretty stout and more "sticky"? anyone have a link?

What pads are you using??? I`ve ran this machine with various pads for 15 months and Ive never had one slide off.

Rupes plates should mount up but be sure you have clearance between the shroud.

interesting about the rupes plates

Ive been using the buff n shine line for the last couple years now. its only on the curved areas when running the machine over and across...pad slips, wobbles, and I have to pull the machine off the car, and the pad flies off in the air

Rupes backing plates will fit on, but they are pretty snug. I also dont care for the Griots backing plate. It doesnt have enough bite. I have not flung any pads yet, just had some start to move a little on the plate. Kinda scared one will come off one day and Im gona hit the car with the BP. I hope griots fixed this problem

If you use a pad bigger than the backing plate the wobble can develop, however after getting new backing plates with my new Boss 21 I have not had the issues you described Eric.

New backing plates have much better grip.

what new backing plate? The stock one?

I have the 5" plate setup with 5.5" pads. I also have the interface pad to use between the plate and the pad now for curved sections.

Sometimes, the 21 simply works where the 6" wont, so its not like I want to just stop using it on curved areas
