First let me say thank you to those who have contributed to this forum. I am taking a two week personal leave from the internet but I wanted to let you guys know the latest happenings to my business.
Below is a picture of three out of four autos that will be featured in a national ad campiagn for Nitto Tires. The ads will run in major auto magazines plus pamphlets and such. All four cars are customers of mine. The fourth car is a Steeda Autosports race car that was put in the hauler before the picture.:mad: Thanks for the ideas and for reminding me of things I forgot.

These cars are done with the professional line of Meg`s. Meg`s cleaners have always worked well for me. I know their waxes are not known for longevity but, these autos are looked after every week, so I do not have to worry about anything bad on the paint or the longevity of the wax.

Nice work, really like the blue on the lightning. Did not know the lightning came in blue.

Congratz Ardetailing!!! I`d love to have that opportunity to have my work featured in a magazine ad... Actually, it`s a bigger dream of mine to detail cars that are used in movies... That way I can have my friends over to watch a movie and brag that I detailed the cars in it. :cool:

It really isn`t a big deal to detail cars that have been in movies. I have done a bunch and they are usually not that nice to begain with. I have done cars for the Ty Cobb movie, gone in 60 seconds, and some gangster movies. Usually you don`t see the car or if you do it drives buy way in the back ground or maybe you will see a part of a qrtr panel in a seen.

The cars are usually owned by private parties that submit their names to a movie car broker. When the need arises for your type and year of car they call you. The going rate is about $100-$150 a day. I have seen where the movie studios have porters "fresh`n up" the cars and scratch them all to heck.

Now magazine cars are different. They are privatly owned (usually) and have to be really nice as the way they take the pics picks up everything. I have done about 6 to date. Here is one-

what products did you use on the stangs, glaze wax etc?

Normal Megs setup. Remember, the paint is immaculate, those are show cars that are hauled in covered trailors. They only see the light of day because a door is open.

They look nice although we still se heavly swirled cars at shows I seen a Ferrari Mondena Spider with swirls everywhere and they where selling it over MSRP thats terrible for such a bad detailing job.

Exotic car owners should be fined for having swirled paint.

I was watching the commentary track of movie on DVD and the director said they had to deshine many cars because of the bright lights and reflections.

I will see if I can find the link to how vehicle are shot for magazine layouts.

Most magazine shoot vehicles using bright lights and reflectors, whether shooting inside or outside.

As you can tell with this kind of light even the littlest scratch or defect will show up.
