So over the weekend I clayed, polished, and applied Optimum Gloss Coat on my new car. Super easy to apply, much different experience than wax or sealants as you don`t buff it off, just run a mf light over it to smooth out rough spots. My car is fairly small(porsche 911), I only used 5cc of product. I have 15cc`s left over, is it okay to store that for a month or so and then do another car, or do I need to do it sooner? Also, now that`s it applied do I need to do anything as it`s curing or just not get it wet for a few days? I bought some Optimum qd, is that the best to use to freshen up the OGC after future washings?

Congratulations on your successful project !
How did it turn out ?
Are you happy with the result ?

The remaining product will last for years in the original syringe if you keep it capped tightly..

It starts curing in the presence of air, so as long as you control that, you will be fine and can use the remainder to perhaps coat another vehicle, or the wheels, etc., ..

If you did it over this past weekend and its been inside since then, you are good to be outside with it..
It takes a little while to fully cure so be careful..

Cant wait to see it sometime !

I have a car with similar size. Did you use the included applicator sponge or another method? Just trying to gauge usage. Only bought 10cc though.

Same as above, seal it with no air and it`ll last as long as you need it.

Don`t get wet for a day or two, and only wash with ONR for a week.
No harsh chemicals while it cures.
After that you`re good to go.

I used all 10 ccs on a Subaru Legacy. If I were you I would do another coat. You have plenty of product and an awesome car. Please post pictures.

This spring, I`m gonna polish the PBL v2 off my car and apply gloss coat instead. Somehow I got it in my head that you can`t wax over GC... Found out that wasn`t the case, and every picture of a car with GC leaves me drooling. This situation must be rectified!

Here is a pic. I`m now worried I didn`t apply enough product since I only used 5cc`s. I`ve driven it now, if I want to add another coat, do I just wash and reapply? I guess I`ll see how the beading is when I wash.

Would need isoprol wipe down too.
No strong Chemicals for a week after applying, that may include your wash soap and definitely the iso

IMHO

wait a week, wash, maybe ipa
add 2nd coat if desired..

Didn`t the original gloss coat suggest 2 coats like 2-4 hours between?

Did you only apply one coat? I applied 2 coats, 1 hour apart using the newest gloss coat formula. Personally I think you will be fine as long as you got even coverage.

I forgot to point out that Vega had a year of the original gloss coat and I believe he only applied 1 coat.

Dont worry, I just did my Cayman GT4 and was able to do two coats with about 9cc. Just wash your car before your next application.

And 5cc is more than enough for such a small car. You`re fine.

Forgot to mention that Ron @ Optimum says a second coat can be applied immediately but it takes an hour for a coat to cure before it can see water.

I I needed a break between coats anyway but seems like the second coat can go on right away. By the time you work back around to the first panel it will be 30 min anyway.

I always apply 2 coats. I think you get more gloss with 2 coats. But that is just me.
