I have never been more intimidated by a DA in my life. In my pursuit of craziness and liking to mix, match an frankenstein things that are pretty much over the top... this has got to be the most aggressive and raw DA I have ever used. So for fun I let my buddy at the bodyshop play with the DA`s for a day. The Rupes paired with Katana/Beast BP and the G21 with the oem 6 inch BP. He told me the G21 was still edging out ahead of the Rupes by just a bit but noticable. So after some idea`s this popped into my head.

G21 + Katana/Beast Bp = Borderline scary

Just turning it on, on 1 is a little nerve racking, 6 leaves you awestruck but definitely not for a beginner. I`m going to hammer a new DD audi we recently purchase with lovely cat hood scratches. I have a strong feeling it`s going to annihilate those lines off the face of the earth.

(And yes, it fits like a glove)

Do you think the Katana BP for the Rupes 15 would fit the Boss 15?? Every review I`ve seen on the Katana was with MF pads, but am I correct in assuming it would offer the same advantages with foam pads designed for long throw polishers??

What pads will you be running?

I don`t see why not, the increase in speed might cause you to eat up a foam pad a bit faster but other then that everything would be the same. The gains are very noticeable with the katana/beast. Rupe`s formatted plates fit on the BOSS series but BOSS plates do not clear the Rupes.

I will start off with MF finishing, then graduate to cutting if need be. Most likely use SRC compound, it really acts just like 2500 but with more cut and a bit more dust, still absolutely awesome. I`ll then follow up with the rupes 15, yellow pad, essence an then coat it with my 1 year old bottle of UK LOL.

Would be interesting to see vs stock BP not trying to hit anything haha! Curious on the difference in cut ability never tried Kanata/beast BP on any of my rupes. Usually if my rupes couldn`t cut it my Flex could what ever the Flex couldn`t rotary sure could lol

The Katana/beast on the rupes 21 is VERY noticeable, the cut is significantly faster 5-10%. The balance is definitely a ton better and the super low profile really makes polishing with stuff like X-cuts insane. Even with the 21 it rips but with the G21`s 900 watt motor it just monsters out corners as much if not more then 3401. It`s like trying to hold back a PE-14-2 except with throw!

I will do a comparison for sure.

That said, if you try it don`t use thin disks when you first start, you really need to get used to it.

I have had one since the summer, absolutely love it! Very smooth, no vibration!

Subscribed :) I`ve been debating the kamikaze for a couple months now. I can`t justify the $100 on a backing plate yet... Lol! The anti vibration appeals to me, faster corrections do as well, but only a 5-10% faster correction rate isn`t enough for me to pull the trigger.

When I bought my 15 I thought about modifying it to a 21. I looked over the parts diagram for the 15 & 21. We all know the 15 has higher RPM too.
I`m suprised no one has tried a mod that "might" just unlock the hidden power of the 21. It looks like the motors are identical but I`m not 100% sure.
Why not change the module and put a 400.246/c in it that a 15 uses. It should increase the max RPM from 4200-5000.
Run your 5" BP and you may not need a Mark 2.

Mods can delete my link if it`s not allowed.
