I can`t decide between these two coatings. I`m looking for something easy to use, this is my first coating. Obviously I also want great durability and great gloss. Which do people prefer out of these two?

Both are great. Comparing apples to apples. Both are super simple and easy to use. Optimum probably has better documented longevity proof since its out longer. Both look similar after application.

From the pics I`ve seen, gloss coat is shinier. Also, from what I gather, gloss coat is slightly more difficult to apply. I have PBL V2 on my car and it honestly could not have been easier to apply. I`m talking stupid easy. Also, the bang for the buck with PBL is very strong. Theres enough to do 5 coats of a typical mid sized sedan- I have a honda accord- in one bottle. I did 3 coats, plus my windshield and wheels and still have a little bit left.

There is no way anything can be easier to apply than Gloss Coat. Spread on and 95% of it flashes off requiring no buffing. I MIGHT have to buff off a couple spots but that`s about it. No complete panels or entire car like most require. Have Gloss Coat on my daily driver and going on 1.5 years strong. Have a strong rainstorm system that`s been here in North Texas the last couple days and the beading is STRONG! Couldn`t be happier.

Never used gc but have used pbl (v1) with great results.
Can`t attest for durability as I couldn`t resist topping it with random things over the last two years since application on my truck.

Def agree prolly apples to apples, I know my car club buddy has gc on his yellow challenger and it looks very nice...but he drowns it with optimum spray wax so that never hurts for helping gloss.

I`d humbly put my 09 black srt double coated pbl v1 up against any black car with two coats of gc.
I think it looks good. There`s always room for more though. And i probably left some more gloss to be had under there too.

I cant afford to try them all. You cant go wrong with either imo.

I wend with the Optimum Gloss Coat. I have a clear bra that installed last week. Should I apply this over the bra or leave it alone?

Let your ClearBra dry from underneath completely, and you can apply the Coating over it if you want..

It wont stay as long on the plastic as it will to properly prepared paintwork, but it will be there for awhile...

How long depends on how clean the ClearBra was and your application process..

If it was me, I would put something like Sonax Net Shield over the ClearBra and save the Gloss Coat for the Paintwork..

Whatever works for your needs/wants is what you should do, it will be fine..
