I was wondering if it`s possible to take rock/debris damage out of headlights. The plastic housings on both my cars (one`s 3 years, the other 6) are pretty beat. I`ve attempted polishing but without much luck. Am I hoping for the impossible?

I`ve wetsanded and polished out some headlights and got good results. I think it was 2000 grit, polished with some SSR2.5 and finished up with Pro Polish, with the PC I think. So if they are not all that deep and a little hazy, you may be able to get them out.
If there are any deep impressions, you probably won`t be able to get those out, but if you follow some of the processes described in the various headlight restoration threads here and elsewhere, you`ll certainly be able to give them a whole new look, and at least minimize the visibility of the largest chips.
