This wheel cleaner is often on sale for just $5 a bottle, so I tried it out on an Audi A6. First I tried just spraying on and rinsing off after a 3 minute dwell time (it changed color almost immediately, but they recommend letting it sit for 3-5 minutes).

Here is the wheel to begin with. I used the back wheel (less brake dust) to give it the best chance of success.

After 3 minutes

After rinsing with just a garden hose.

After agitation

And it worked just as well on the front wheels too with minimal agitation.

Overall it is very good. I compared quite a few color changing wheel cleaners and I found Iron X and Adam`s Deep Wheel Cleaner to be the most effective with no agitation out of all of them, but I think DUB would come up next, it is excellent. Also, besides Adam`s it is the least offensive in terms of odor. With that said, DUB`s scent does not linger around at all. It also clings to the wheel pretty well. Definitely worth a try, it is cheap and can be purchased locally.

Has anyone found that it gives a beating to factory painted brake calipers? My fronts were hazed and looked horrible after a short setup without agitation. The rears look great, but the front calipers look like someone tried to strip the paint off of them. Had never seen a wheel cleaner do that to calipers.

I thought it smelled like dirty feet, too. Didn`t get any piņa colada out of that smell at all.

Assuming you have a GTI, the brake calipers eventually fade to pink pretty easily. I work at a VW dealer and some cars have faded calipers before we even sell them.

Nice review. It`s a good product. The sprayer could use some work.

Yup, it`s a 2012 GTI. I have been using Eagle One A2Z Wheel and Tire Cleaner for years without any issue, and yesterday watched the front calipers turn pink before my eyes with this stuff. Just be warned, there is a possibility that it harms powercoated or painted calipers.

That`s a bummer.

We started buying this about 3 months sgo, during the last Advance Auto Parts $5 sale. Tried it out, and went right back and ordered 10 more bottles. It was on sale again all July and I bought 20 bottles this time. There are some wheels that is just works a little on, but then there are many like German cars that it is the best wheel cleaner I`ve ever seen. Turns purple very quickly and cuts through brake dust so well you don`t even have to touch them, just pressure rinse after. Highly recommend this stuff for $5.
